PERFORMANCE, RELIABILITY, AND CONVENIENCE OF MODULAR CABLING
CX Series Modular power supply units are an excellent choice for basic system builds and desktop PC computer upgrades, offering high reliability, low noise, and the flexibility of modular cabling.
LOW NOISE
FASTER INSTALLATION AND BETTER-LOOKING BUILDS
The modular cabling system lets you use only the cables you need. You get to save space and reduce clutter for a cleaner-looking build and improved airflow. 80 PLUS Bronze certified efficiency and clever fan design allow for little or no detectable fan noise during regular operation.
RELIABLE AND COMPATIBLE
GOOD LOOKS
The matte black finish, black-sleeved cables and black connectors help give your system a restrained, high-tech look. CX Series Modular is built and tested to strict standards for trouble-free installation and smooth operation.
CORSAIR ENGINEERING AND QUALITY CONTROL
Every Corsair power supply is designed by our California engineering team and built to exact specifications. The same care that goes into the design and testing of our power supplies also goes into the CX Series Modular, because you need confidence and reliability regardless of your budget.
MODULAR CABLING SYSTEM
Since the peripheral power cables aren’t hard-wired to the power supply, you can connect the cables you need for your exact configuration of PCIe cards and storage devices. The rest of the cables stay in the box, and not in your PC’s case where they can clutter and interfere with airflow.
LARGE-DIAMETER, THERMALLY CONTROLLED FAN
Once you’ve installed a PSU, you shouldn’t have to think about it. Employing a thermally controlled fan makes the CX Series Modular quieter at idle, and the large diameter reduces noise even when you’re pushing your system hard.

It has been 6 months since I first got this PSU and it has been running smoothly every since the first power up. I'll make it short and sweet though:
~80 Plus Bronze. For those who have no clue what this is, it is a critical metric used in Rating PSU. Anything Rated with 80 Plus ((White, Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Titanium)) are made with higher quality parts the higher tier it goes, making for a much better unit that will have less and less of a chance of exploding, short circuiting, blowing up, etc etc. This also means 80 Plus PSU are 80% efficient which means 80% of the power isn't getting chewed up by heat.
~750 Watts. While stating the obvious, this means you can have quite a bit of power cycling through this and even have the options for SLi/Crosffire configurations. It provides more then enough power to run even a single card as well, like a GTX 980-980TI and AMD R9 Nano's or Fury X
~Semi-Modular. This gives You, the consumer, the options to use the cables you only need. While the ATX ((24 pin)) connector is still wired into the unit itself, other options like 4, 6 and 8 pins are all optional to plug in. This means you only have to plug in what you need, making cable management FAR easier and no unused cables cluttered up in your case.
~Modular Cables are all black. No funky colors here ((except the 24 pin ATX, though it is mostly hidden by mesh)) so it makes it far more pleasing to look at.
~Easy to install for First timer Builders
~Reliable performance from a reputable company ((Corsair))
Now, you likely won't get a great deal I got (($70-75ish CAD)) as I got mine during an Inventory sweep. HOWEVER, it should be noted that this is still a very reputable and reliable unit, especially first time builders or those looking to expand their system further. People will say what they will about the CX series but I have had zero issues with mine while running my gaming rig. If you are looking for something easy to use, easy on the eyes and leaves plenty of room for future upgrading, a good unit like this isn't a bad choice at all.
My only complaint is the non-modular cables— The thick round sleeping is really hard to move, and I also felt like the cables were made upside down or something, as I had to awkwardly flip them around to plug it into the sockets, fearing I would break them, making cable management on the open side of the case look a lot worse than it has to be. Next time i’d probably go for a fully modular PSU. However, when it’s all said and done, it works great and is silent.
Other notes:
-Very sturdy feeling psu
-3 year warranty
-Looks good.
-Comes with zip ties for easy cable management
-Great for upgrading your pc, this will allow you to run just about any gpu out there and in most cases 2 of it.
if looks are concerning to you)
-Creates about the same amount of noise as my old 340Wat delta power supply that I replaced. Which I would imagine is a good thing as this psu puts out more than double the power
-80+ bronze power efficiency
-----------What does 80+ mean?-----------
When you see 80+ it meant it is a more power efficient power supply bronze means appx 18% of power to the power supply is lost as heat, regular 80+ means 20% loss (silver= 15% loss) (gold= 13% loss) (platinum= 11% loss.) (80+ and 80+ bronze is where you do best for your money as more efficient power supplies have a tendency to be a lot more expensive).
If the power supply you are going to buy does not have an 80+ mark on it there is a good chance it is made with cheap inferior parts from china and a cheap power supply can damage your computer.
My only pet peeve was the main 24 pin cable should have had a full cover sleeve. Had to add a mod and cover it myself so hide all those ugly colors.
Supplied cables were good but kinda crowded together.
Other then that it works fine. I have barely any noise coming from mine. Mind you my case has rubber sittings so it does not vibrate against metal. I think it could get a price drop considering for a few bucks more you can find better cables and a 24 pin black or covered cord. But it does its job and i am in no way complaining for the price.
I would definitely recommend it for anyone building a pc who is on a budget and does not want to break their bank account just for a modular psu! Has a good long warranty to and Corsair seems like a reputable company with great customer support. So that is a big bonus.
Happy with purchase . Works like a charm so far.
