The Underdog of Intel
Ive had like all my friends tell me this wasnt going to work, though I may upgrade in due time, still they were all wrong. All these kids who played xbox then bought a pre-built PC and thought that a 'i7' is better than 'i5' because of a two number difference xD I can run BattleFront II Maxed ULTRA settings, Anti aliasing and the whole nine yards turned on in Nvidia CP, I dont optimize it in GEFORCE Exp either; with the wrong settings it helps sort you out but if you have good settings with good performance itll just weigh you down,I have preferences set to in game for most of the Nvidia CP but theyre high asf, I mean this thing isnt cranked to 100 but DAYUM, it delivers. Mind you this is ALL on HDR10 50" TELEVISION xD I know. I need a monitor, its coming, btw I get a solid 40-60 frames 30 in ERY intense situations, thats because I need a better monitor lol this thing is 120Hz for TV but its not your standard 165Hz monitor which I require. ANYWAYS. Shes a beaut and barely hits 100% in extreme situations. Like currently my CPU is at 10-15% Usage, GPU is at 15-20%, VRAM at 44% and RAM at 37%. With like 7 programs running. In game My GPU maxes 100%, thats normal guys lol, VRAM will be like 60-70%, TOPS 90-95% on insane games, with the RAM constantly following at arounf 7-15% behind it, And the CPU maintains a strong 80% with Quality and performance High and well, even at 100% on Space Engineers it handles fine, Frames and all, but i dont wanna push her, thats why I disable any extreme performance overrides in my motherboards software manager. Sony Vegas btw this thing handles flawlessly for editing with right settings. just disable Extreme performance from your Motherboards Software manager and turn it to a balance setting, and also shes VERY quiet with right cooling installed, I myself have a water cooler and 14 fans for internal. CONCLUSION: BUDGET, BUILT, BOLD, BEAUTIFUL. No this is not a Mascara commercial this thing is just good.

Score: 9.5/10
The Intel Core i9-9900K represents the pinnacle of desktop processing power in Intel's 9th Generation lineup. With its extraordinary speed, multi-core performance, and overclocking capabilities, this processor earns an exceptional 9.5 out of 10.
The i9-9900K boasts 8 cores and 16 threads, providing immense multi-tasking power. The CPU operates at a base clock of 3.6GHz, which can turbo boost up to an impressive 5.0GHz, making it one of the fastest processors available as of my last training data in 2021.
One of the highlights of the i9-9900K is its unlocked multiplier, providing overclocking enthusiasts with the ability to push the processor even further. When combined with adequate cooling and a capable motherboard, you can achieve even higher clock speeds for intense gaming sessions or demanding workloads.
Moreover, the i9-9900K utilizes Intel's Hyper-Threading technology. This feature effectively doubles the available threads, significantly improving performance in multi-threaded tasks such as video rendering, 3D modeling, and complex scientific calculations.
The compatibility of the i9-9900K with the LGA1151 socket and 300 series chipsets also means it can fit into a wide variety of motherboards, making it a convenient upgrade for many existing systems.
However, the i9-9900K does present some challenges. Its high performance comes with significant heat output, especially under heavy loads or when overclocked. Therefore, it requires a substantial cooling solution to keep temperatures in check. Additionally, as a premium product, it carries a high price tag, which might be a deterrent for some budget-conscious consumers.
In conclusion, the Intel Core i9-9900K is an outstanding processor for high-end gamers and professionals needing a lot of computational power. Its high clock speeds, impressive multi-core performance, and overclocking potential make it a top-tier choice for performance-intensive applications. Despite its high heat output and premium price, its sheer performance and capabilities justify these trade-offs, making it a powerhouse addition to any high-performance PC.

been working with this CPU since mid summer of 2020, and i've really enjoyed using it. ive mainly just been doing fairly light and mid sized workloads, such as esports gaming, streaming, and content creation (adobe premiere pro 2020) and it has worked flawlessly. fair warning -and yes, i'm aware the 9900k is notorious for this- this processor does run fairly hot on heavy workloads, even in a high airflow case. i've been using a high tower cooler from bequiet! to cool this thing inside of a 9 chassis fan 011 dynamic, with the cooler on push-pull, and it still hits mid 90's on its hottest core when running cinebench r20. i would highly reccomend investing in a worthy 240mm or larger watercooler that is worthy of cooling this beast. if you plan on doing only esports gaming, i do not get this cpu, instead invest in an i7 9700k, or something else if it works within your budget if you're running on one.
two years later after this bad boy's release, it's still among the top dogs in the consumer desktop market, and it really deserves it. now with the release of 5000 series ryzen chips from AMD, this cpu still holds its value even though it is pricey... but at least you can actually buy a 9900k. prices of this chip have been all over the place in the past few months, so i would recommend picking up this cpu when it hits a low of around 460 canadian rupels, so keep an eye on the prices.
i have experience with the ryzen 7 3700x in another system that i have, but by far i would rather team blue... though this is purely preference, and everyone has their opinions. i do very much like ryzen and their vulue for the dollar, but i rather the i9 just a bit more for gaming.
good job intel :)

This has been a trip but I am using this since I do not trust the newer generations of CPUs.
I chose 8th gen versus 10/11/12th generation since I am trying (Actually Doing Now) dual booting Windows 7 & 10.
Just remember that you NEED a compatible MOBO if your going to be doing that. Also remember that Microsoft and Intel are trying to STOP PEOPLE FROM USING OLDER OPERATING SYSTEMS, actually putting impedences in the CPUs to not run those operating systems anymore.
Intel i5-8500 is stable, great speed and base clock at 3 GHz ramps up to 3.99 GHz without tweaking any profiles.
My Setup:
MSI MAG B365M MORTAR
Intel i5-8500
MSI Geforce GTX 1050ti
(2x) WD Blue HDD 1TB
**All I want to do is use photoshop and emulate PS2 games. Does the latter perfectly fine, and yet do the former but no doubt will run like butter. Shadow of the Colossus and Gran Turismo 3 run at 60fps at 720p with only 30% usage of CPU and GPU, max spike 60%. At 1080p 38-52% CPU and 50% GPU usage, max spike 70% for both CPU/GPU.**
