Noctua Cooling Solutions
Noctua's premium cooling components are internationally renowned for their superb quietness, exceptional performance and quality.
Product Description
Now available in a square frame version called NF-P14s (s for square frame) that lends itself to use in case and radiator cooling, the classic NF-P14 is a long-standing favourite among enthusiast users around the world and helped to found Noctua’s reputation as a top-tier manufacturer of premium quality quiet cooling components. The new redux edition reissues this award-winning model in a streamlined, accessibly priced package that has been reduced to the essential core: the NF-P14 premium fan. Its industry grade SSO-Bearing bearing and over 150.000 hours MTBF rating make the NF-P14 redux a proven premium choice that provides trusted Noctua quality. The extra slow 900rpm version is ideal for ultra-low-noise applications and highly noise sensitive users who demand near-silent operation.
Square 140mm frame
The square 140mm frame of the NF-P14s features standard 140mm mounting holes (124.5mm spacing), which makes it a premium grade replacement for common 140mm case fans and perfect for use on 140mm water cooling radiators, where its square shape will ensure full coverage and best pressure performance.

Pressure-optimised Nine-Blade DesignSpecifically developed for high-impedance applications such as CPU coolers, water-cooling radiators or cases with tight fan grills, the NF-P14's nine-blade impeller provides outstanding pressure and airflow performance. |
SSO-BearingCombining the proven concept of hydrodynamic bearing with an additional magnet that supports the self-stabilisation of the rotor axis, Noctua's time-tested technology has become synonymous with supremely quiet operation and exceptional long-term stability. |
Vortex-Control NotchesNoctua's signature Vortex-Control Notches split up trailing edge vortices and thus spread the fan's noise emission over a wider range of frequencies. This measure makes the fan sound more pleasant to the human ear. |
Colour-customisable with NA-SAVP1 anti-vibration padsThe fan’s frame can be outfitted with Noctua’s chromax line NA-SAVP1 anti-vibration pads. Available in black, red, blue, white, green and yellow, these pads not only damp minute vibrations but also allow the fan to be colour-customised in order to coordinate it with popular build colour schemes! |
Streamlined Redux Edition

All redux edition products are industry proven, time-tested models that helped to found Noctua's reputation as a first-tier supplier of premium grade low noise cooling equipment.

I wanted something quiet and high-performant that matched the black and silver theme of this build, as it has a Rampage IV Black from my workstation, which I was upgrading, and Corsair Dominator RAM. I was pleased to discover this product line from Noctua, which promised significantly lower noise profiles than other 'silent' fans. After installing these, I was really impressed with how quiet they were. Then, having an Asus motherboard, I ran the Fan Expert tuning system and then set it to the Silent profile. Between the fans and the software, you literally can't tell the computer is on now if I've say, switched source on the TV to another device like our PS3. The Noctis has a red light that it casts on the floor, and we have to use that to verify the machine is on if it's asleep or the source is switched. The machine is that quiet.
We installed a Vive on this machine, and the noise from the base stations, which isn't very loud... is * louder than the computer *. The PS3, which used to be the quietest device in the room, and is indeed fairly quiet, especially compared to, say, the XBox 360, now sounds like a feight train by comparison. Even at full voltage, as other reviewers have said, these fans will still be quieter than any other fan on the market.
I've run Prime95 with Real Temp GT and the fans got just barely louder under load, while CPU temps remained relatively frosty thanks to the H100i I have installed.
So...
Pros:
- At ~$15, much cheaper than many silent fans, some of which cost $30 nowadays, and cheaper than most other Noctua fans
- Truly silent operation
- Noctua build quality
- A cool color scheme that, being gray, truly will match any system
Cons:
Truly, none
Do note that this fan is just that, a fan. It comes with screws, but none of the dampeners, voltage regulating cables or extension cables most Noctua fans come with. Personally, I prefer that, as that stuff (other than the dampeners) usually ends up in a junk box somewhere. I installed these with a set of compatible Noctua dampeners, the NA-SAV2's, in red. (Note that this fan is not compatible with the corner-style NA-SAVP1 dampeners).
If you want a truly silent fan that will last forever, get this fan. You will * not * be disappointed. This review applies to the NF-S12B as well.
Pros: MOVES air really well. 140MM design is great.
Cons: 1. You wont be able to use it much past 50-60% rpms (600-700 rpsm) due to how loud it is. NOT A QUIET FAN! If you want quiet go for a PWM brown fan. Much better.
2. The screws are too big for the corner holes and will strip the plastic when you screw it in, rendering it USED and NON RETURNABLE. If you are trying this fan out, try an other one or dont use the screws.
