The chromax.black.swap edition combines the NF-F12’s signature quiet cooling performance with an attractive all-black design and a bundle of swappable red, white, blue, green, yellow and black anti-vibration pads that allow the colour-customisation of the fan to match individual build colour schemes. For further customisation, a wide range of accessories such as coloured cables, additional anti-vibration pads and anti-vibration mounts are available separately. Topped off with Noctua’s trusted premium-grade SSO2 bearing and more than 150,000 hours MTTF, the NF-F12 PWM chromax.black.swap is the perfect choice for all users who value individual, focused build aesthetics just as much as class-leading quality and performance.

Swappable anti-vibration pads in 6 coloursThe NF-F12 PWM chromax.black.swap comes with 4 black, white, red, blue, green and yellow NA-AVP1 anti-vibration pads respectively. By combining the various colours with black or leaving off the pads on one side, the fan can be coordinated with most popular build colour schemes out of the box. Additional NA-SAVP1 sets for outfitting both sides in one colour can be purchased separately. |
SSO2 bearingThe chromax line fans feature the further optimised second generation of Noctua’s renowned, time-tested SSO bearing. With SSO2, the rear magnet is placed closer to the axis to provide even better stabilisation, precision and durability. |
Varying Angular Distance and Vortex Control NotchesThe NF-F12's stator guide vanes are set out in Varying Angular Distance and feature Vortex-Control Notches. Both measures help to spread the noise emission over a broader frequency spectrum and thus make the fan's sound pattern more agreeable to the human ear. |
Focused Flow frameDesigned for pressure demanding applications such as heatsinks and radiators, the Focused Flow frame features eleven stator guide vanes that straighten, channel and focus the airflow, which allows the NF-F12 to rival the performance of conventional fans running at much faster speeds. |
chromax.black.swap edition
Maximising colour choices, Noctua’s chromax.black.swap edition fans can be colour-customised using the included swappable anti-vibration pads as well as optional anti-vibration mounts and cables.

I noticed the RPM was listed at 1500 and my Thermaltake fans were 2000 I think. These fans are definitely quieter most likely due to the lower RPM. I tried a test and cranked my CPU fans to 80% and I could barely hear them. I turned them up to 100% and they were more noticeably louder but still quieter than the Thermaltakes at 50%. They did get up to 1500 RPM at 100% so that rating is accurate.
I ended up setting them at a minimum of 50% and maxing out at 100% with high temps but it never gets that hot. I didn't really notice any difference with CPU temps while playing a game for a few minutes. There is not much airflow coming out of these fans when you place your hand in front of them. I was worried they might not move enough air but everything I have read says they are a better design at moving air at a lower RPM. Who knows?
It is irritating they only give you 4 of each color for the anti vibration pads. I put the black ones on top and red ones on bottom. I don't see that the top ones serve any purpose because the top of the fans are not touching anything being mounted on top of my radiator in a pull configuration. I can't think of too many setups where your fan would be contacting another surface on both sides so maybe that's why they only give you 4?
They seem to be high quality and the packaging was nice. I was not happy about the placement of the 4 pin connector coming out of the fan to plug the extension cable into. It is very short and I wanted to pass it through the opening around my radiator. I ended up having to leave the connector above the opening. Not a big deal but some people might find it less than ideal for their setup. The extension cables were long enough with length to spare and I am in a full size case.
My only complaints about these fans are the number of anti-vibration pads given with each fan. They should offer fewer colors and instead include 8 of each color instead of just 4. Sure, there are enough included to make sure that every mounting point has a pad of the same color but come on, this is an aesthetic thing. Anyway, no complaints and totally happy with my upgraded fan situation. May eventually buy two more and use them on my 3080 if I decide to deshroud. Oh, and I’m using a few on a radiator and they are fantastic for that. The rest are fighting against very restrictive dust filters (it’s a problem with the O11, the mesh is too fine) and they do great with that static pressure situation as well. They are a little loud above 1000 rpm though, so be aware of that if you plan to have fewer case fans than the 9 I run.

I have a Ryzen 5 3600, stock clocks, and this fan easily keeps it under control. I have stress tested my CPU with Prime95 and this fan and cooler combination, along with Arctic Silver MX-4 keeps it at 56 C the whole time. My custom fan curve has it set to run at 75% at 60 C, so this fan is easily enough to keep my 3600 in check. I installed the vibration dampening pads on the outside of the fan because I have some hidden on the cooler side of the fan already, and they just look too good to put on the less visible side of the fan. The cable coming off the fan is extremely short, so chances are you will have to use the included extension, which is sleeved and also looks good. The extension is very long, I don't see anyone not being able to reach their fan headers unless they're using this for a top mounted radiator in a mid tower and their CPU fan headers are on the bottom of their motherboard for whatever reason.
I didn't really pay attention to my temperatures with the stock fan that came with my cooler, but I imagine this is better, there are tests that show the Noctua was a degree or two cooler than the stock 212 Evo fan, and the Noctua is far quieter.
Pros:
-Absurdly quiet, my Corsair SP120 case fans drown it out
-Looks good, especially with the black pads
-Vibration dampening pads are very soft and the colors are nice, they also look killer
-Comes with a very long extension cable in the box
Cons:
-The cable coming off the fan was an inch too short to reach my CPU fan header on my ASUS TUF X570-Plus, so I had to fold and zip tie the extension to the side of the fan to reach the header without looking ugly
-I wish it came with double the anti-vibration pads so there were 8 of each color, but it's okay

Très silencieux !
Je recommande de ventilation pour ses performances
So I went for these and thought they can’t be any worse.
So after buying 6 of these all I can say is that I was blown away(no pun intended), they are so quiet, and the airflow is amazing my 3070 graphics card(yes they do exist) used to run at a temperature of 55 degrees while idling, now it runs at 34 degrees.
Even when the fans are on 100% they aren’t annoying and I would say they sound like a small desk fan(remember I have 6 of these). I would doubt anyway would have fans running at 100%, if you do then you need a better airflow case.
Also you can change the colours of the corners, you get these rubber edges that help reduce vibration, I chose white but you can chose what ever colour suits you, they look very smart, and they are easy to mount.
Anyway, I can’t recommend them enough, they may cost more than some, but are worth the money.
