Surprisingly effective, flexible and quiet. Highly recommend.
Just got this so I can't speak for it's durability but will update the review if anything changes. So far, it's made a significant improvement to my system. My house is hot, I must say that first, but I was running into some serious overheating issues. I was idling around 40 - 50 C. Light gaming got me to 55 - 65 C easy. Heavy gaming 60 - 80 C and the PC would shut off. The system and CPU cooler were pretty old. Ended up having to keep the case open and clean it out every couple days.I was a little unsure about this, I was considering just spending some more money and buying an AIO water cooler. But I thought, might as well give it a shot considering how cheap this is and how good the reviews are. So I bought this, and now it idles between 30 - 40 C. Light gaming brings me to 40 - 50 C. Heavy gaming from 45 - 60 C (peak). So far, this is a wonderful improvement. I'm considering buying another fan and adding that, as there is an included mount for it and my case has room; since my PC isn't in an ideal environment in terms of temperature. Not to mention it's very quiet. I actually thought something was wrong at first since I am so used to my old fan just blaring as soon as the computer is turned on. Even while working my computer hard, I can barely hear anything from this. It's amazing. This heatsink give you a lot of flexibility in terms of the direction your fan will point. You can realistically have it point any direction, and I can't see it taking up too much room if you point it in the right direction, if any are concerned about their RAM getting in the way. For me, there was a vent right next to the motherboard that this worked out perfectly for me for. I have an AM3 motherboard, but the included mount worked out fine. The instructions were pretty vague, so it took me a few minutes to figure it out but it wasn't too difficult. Once I buy my second fan I'm sure things will work even better. I highly recommend this.
