The Test
Idle and Load testsFor the testing purposes, power supply provided by Antec was installed in the system with the following components:

On this close up picture you can see the Ultra X3 1000W ATX Power Supply installed in the LIAN LI PC-V2100B case.
Idle voltages were measured by powering the system at the default speeds, and voltages with no applications were running for at least 30 minutes.
The load condition was established by running loops of the SM graphics test from 3DMark06 at 1600x1200 resolution with enabled 8x AA and 16x AF and Orthos (2 cores) at the same time for at least 60 minutes. All voltage rails were measured using a digital multimeter by tapping into various connectors. In addition to these stressful applications running, the loaded system was overclocked and overvolted to add more demand to the CPU and graphics card.
The Ultra X3 1000W has a very good voltage regulation. There were tiny fluctuations on all rails but the voltages stayed well within ATX standards. The 135mm fan was quiet and cooled PSU very well.
