Performance: 10/10 (40% of the final score)
The NZXT E-850 is a titan when it comes to performance. The unit operates absolutely flawlessly, pushing solid numbers and meeting the Gold standard of PSU efficiency. There are no complaints here, this unit is built to withstand the harshest of tasks and environments. The NZXT E-850 has been one of the most innovative and highest performing units this year.
Features: 10/10 (20% of the final score)
NZXT has blown us away with the features packed into this PSU. The information provided via the CAM software is extremely useful especially for overclocking enthusiasts. It's also just a great way to keep an eye on component health and really bring more control back to the hands of the end user. It's a comprehensive package that should be standard across the industry.
Components/Build Quality: 9.9/10 (20% of the final score)
The quality of the build should be of no surprise here, Seasonic makes some of the absolute best PSU's in the industry and this little gem from NZXT is no different. All Japanese capacitors, multi-rail overcurrent protection all backed by a 10-year warranty. The minor picky complaint here are with the included cables since the unit strictly states to not use third party cables. Overall, this unit is very impressive.
Value: 9.7/10 (20% of the final score)
At the time of writing the NZXT E850 is going for $149.99 from Amazon. Competing digital PSU's are much higher in price, but we do wish these were offered as Platinum efficiency over Gold. The unit has a substantial feature-set and a top notch build quality, you can't go wrong picking this unit.

Summary
NZXT may have taken a step back from the PSU market, but that does not mean they have forgotten how to make top notch units. The E-series PSU's tick all of the boxes, from performance, to features, to build quality and even value. It's a very aggressive set of units and we can't wait to see where NZXT takes this new lineup in the future. The units were nothing short of impressive if not slightly boring to look at. We can only imagine what NZXT might cook up for a version 2 release in the coming years.
