Enermax has always provided fantastic packaging on its premium units. The Platimax D.F. is no exception to this. Everything is packed very tight and neat in the large oversized box. The power supply is shrouded in protective foam cut-outs along with a protective psu cover bag to prevent scratches during shipment.
The Platimax D.F. houses Enermax's 139mm Patented Twister-Bearing fan. The fan is designed for ultra-silent cooling while having an impressive expected lifetime of 160,000 hours. We've seen the twister bearing fan in previous reviews and we agree, it's a great performer. Enermax went out of their way to coat the fan with a glossy mirror type finish which adds a nice aesthetic appeal to the unit. When looking top down at the unit, the fan almost seems oversized for the chassis. This is great though as it adds a bit of comfort knowing that it will be providing the cooling for such a high wattage unit.
All cables and accessories are contained within a completely separate box beside the power supply. Everything is individually bagged so there are no loose items floating about the inside of the box. Enermax does a great job of packaging, but it's not entirely over the top, A+ job on this one guys, I have no doubt these units would survive shipping.
After cracking open the box we can see a power supply manual that has been translated into thirteen different languages. The power supply is located on the right side of the box and is contained by the large foam shrouds. On the left side, we can see a large red box which contains all cables and accessories. Jumping in further, we can find a plethora of individually sleeved cables in the red box.
With the cables, we have two bags of cable clips. These clips are actually designed to work specifically with the individually sleeved cables which is a great addition. We also have zip ties, Velcro ties, and the power cord bracket that Enermax is known for. Last but not least we have the standard mounting hardware along with an Enermax sticker.
